Fingers of Fury formed late 2004 when percussion extraordinaire Matt Stonehouse, just returned from several years of hanging out with gypsy musicians in Turkey and Persia, teamed up with Mantrix producer/percussionist Ben Last and Unified Gecko’s Anita Larkin. Performing all around Victoria with the extraordinary Underbelly Dancers and a riveting repertoire of rhythms and sounds from all over the Middle East and North Africa, the group is becoming well known for its captivating if not somewhat manic performances. The Fingers furiously roller coast from thumping tribal to intensely focused maqsoum, from infectious dance beats to ridiculously mathematic rhythmic compositions. With amazing energy, charm and dexterity the Fingers of Fury are bound to impress.
